Daytiles

Privacy Policy

Effective October 4, 2026

Daytiles keeps your habits on your iPhone. They go to your own iCloud account only if you turn on iCloud sync, which is off until you do. There's no account to make with us, and the app doesn't collect, sell or share your information, or track you.

What the app keeps, and where

To work, Daytiles stores the following on your device:

It's kept in the app's storage on your iPhone, where Daytiles' widgets can read it too. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, the app's data is included in that backup too.

iCloud sync

iCloud sync is off until you turn it on in Daytiles' settings. Then your habits, their history and their photos and notes are also kept in Daytiles' space in your private iCloud database, so they stay in step on your iPhone and Apple Watch and come back on a new phone. The Apple Watch app gets your habits only this way, so it shows them once sync is on. Turning sync off later stops your iPhone syncing; what's already in your iCloud stays there until you delete those habits. That data belongs to your Apple Account: only you can read it, and Apple handles it under its own privacy policy. None of it is sent to us or anyone else.

What we collect

Nothing. Daytiles has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party code that collects data. We have no servers that receive your information.

Photos

When you choose a photo for a habit, iOS's photo picker gives Daytiles only that photo, not your library. The app keeps a smaller copy of it with the habit, on your device and, if you've turned on iCloud sync, in your private iCloud database. Removing the photo or deleting the habit removes the copy.

Apple Health

With Daytiles Pro, you can choose to link a habit to Apple Health, for example a Water habit to Dietary Water, a Meditate habit to Mindful Minutes, a Walk habit to Steps, or a Work Out habit to Workouts. Nothing is written to or read from Health unless you link a habit and allow it when iOS asks.

Once you do, Daytiles writes that habit's entries into Health on your iPhone, from the day you linked it, plus its earlier days if you choose to add them. It can write Dietary Water, Mindful Minutes, Toothbrushing, Caffeine, Workouts and the Steps you enter yourself. It also reads what other apps have put in Health for the linked type (Dietary Water, Mindful Minutes, Caffeine, Steps, Exercise Minutes or Workouts), so it counts toward the habit or checks off the day. What it reads is shown on your iPhone and kept only in memory while the app runs. It isn't saved with your habits, isn't stored in iCloud, and isn't sent to us or anyone else.

Data in Health is kept and synced by Apple under its own privacy policy. Health data isn't used for advertising, sold, or shared. Unlinking a habit stops new entries; to remove ones already written, delete them in the Health app, or turn off Daytiles' access there under your profile, Apps.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone by the app itself. Nothing about them passes through a server. You can turn them off in Daytiles' settings or in the iPhone Settings app.

Purchases

Daytiles Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details or your Apple Account information. The app asks the App Store which Daytiles purchases your Apple Account holds, so it knows whether Pro is unlocked. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Children

Daytiles doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Delete a habit to remove it and its history from your iPhone and, with sync on, your iCloud. Delete the app to remove everything it has stored on your iPhone. Deleting the app doesn't remove what's in your iCloud, so if you used sync, turning it on again after a reinstall brings your habits back. To remove everything from iCloud too, delete your habits in Daytiles with sync on first. To keep a copy first, Settings has a free export of your habits and memories as JSON and CSV, described on Your data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
